Welcome to The Law Student Review
Welcome to L.S.R
My name is Benjamin MacVean.
I created LSR to give law students something law school rarely
does: opportunities to practice legal writing on topics you care
about, not assignments on 20th century cases.
As a writer, you’ll create a published portfolio of articles on
legal commentary, case summarises, and legal concepts that matter.
You’ll develop the core skills every employer looks for: precise
analysis, persuasive writing, and the ability to explain complex
law simply.
Your work won’t disappear into turnitin. It will be published, credited to you, and shareable — something you can point to in clerkship and graduate applications as evidence of your writing, judgment, and initiative.
Whether you’re interested in law reform, policy, or case analysis this is a space to:
sharpen your legal writing and reasoning,
build a public body of work,
demonstrate commitment to the law beyond coursework, and
join a community of motivated law students.
All law students are welcome. No prior publishing experience required, just a willingness to think carefully and write well.
If you want to become a stronger writer and a more competitive graduate, start here.
